Vice President Yemi Osinbajo left Nigeria for Canada on Sunday, in what would be the highest-level engagement with the North American country since the government of Olusegun Obasanjo.

Osinbajo will be meeting with Canadian Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland and lawmakers to discuss bilateral relations.

But that was not the only high-level engagement kick-started on Sunday.

The group of five aggrieved governors of the People’s Democratic Party started a journey into a new identity by calling itself the Integrity Group.

The team met in Lagos with other senior members of the party, including former governors, senators, and the former national vice chairman, Olabode George.

They insisted on the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu’s removal.

Also, over the weekend, INEC assured that it would clean up its register, Qatar became the first World Cup host to be defeated in the competition’s opening match, and former president, Goodluck Jonathan celebrated his 65th birthday.
