It was an election weekend in Nigeria, with supplementary polls taking place in states where voting was either canceled or declared inconclusive during the 25 February and 18 March elections.
One of the most followed elections was the governorship poll of Adamawa State which pit Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party against Senator Aishatu Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress.
The winner of the vote would have been known on Sunday but for the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Hudu Yunusa-Ari.
Ari infamously usurped the role of the Returning Officer for the election when he illegally declared ... as the winner.
He has been summoned to INEC headquarters for questioning this week.
Elsewhere, primary elections took place with Senator Dino Melaye emerging as the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party for the Kogi State Guber election scheduled for 11 November 2023.
