World Autism Awareness Day 2019: Data & Support Structures In Nigeria
The UN says autism is a lifelong developmental disability
People all over the world are marking Autism Awareness Day today, a campaign designed to raise awareness for those with autism.
The internationally recognised day is celebrated globally on April 2 every year after being adopted by the United Nations to enrich the lives of people on the autism spectrum.
The UN says autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others. This can mean they see, hear and feel the world differently to others. Also, autism is what is known as a spectrum condition, meaning it affects individuals in different ways. Some autistic people, for example, also have learning disabilities, mental health issues or other conditions.
