Governor Nyesom Wike is set to form his cabinet, six months after he was sworn in for a second term in office.
It is understood that Governor Wike has sent thirteen commissioner nominees to the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The nominees are expected to appear before the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners designate. A Statement by the Clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Standford Oba enjoined the nominees to submit their credentials.
The nominees include; Soni Ejekwu, Austin Ben-Chioma, Sylvanus Nwankwo, Osima Ginah and Inime Chineweno Aguma, Ifeoma Nwankpa and Peter Mende.
Others are Bariere Thomas, Fred Kpakol, Paulinus Nsirim, Tasie Chinedu, Rodaford Long-John, and Kaniye Ebeku.
Recall that the Governor, while explaining the delay in forming his cabinet, had said that he was looking for people with dedication and passion for Rivers state. The governor has worked with permanent secretaries, secretary to the state government, head of service, Attorney General and Chief of Staff ever since.
Yesterday, Governor Nyesom Wike appointed fifteen Special Advisers. A government house statement said the Special Advisers will be sworn in on Wednesday. None of the Advisers has been assigned a portfolio.
