We Did Not Send Representatives To COZA - CAN
By Dipo Omoware
In a dramatic twist of events, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said that it did not send representatives to the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to declare support for under-fire Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Nigeria Info had earlier reported a video that surfaced online wherein top official of the religious association had pledged their support for the church and its pastor in the face of the rape allegation levelled against the pastor by celebrity photographer Busola Dakolo.
In a statement released by the association’s National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Barrister Kwamkur Samuel Vondip on Tuesday, CAN stated that the leaders who visited the church were not representing the CAN.
The statement reads “Those who did so did it on their own. We stand by our earlier release on this issue that we would never support any act of immorality from whatever quarter.”
They further stated that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigerian (PFN) has set up a panel to investigate the issue.
“We can tell you PFN has constituted a panel investigating the matter, and in less than two weeks, the outcome of the investigation will come out.”
“We urge all Christian brothers and sisters to know that this is the position of CAN.”
“We would not spare anyone found wanting from facing appropriate disciplinary actions.”
