UPDATE: National Security Council Announces New Plan to Tackle Insecurity

The National Security Council has agreed to seek wider collaboration with the Nigerian society to help tackle insecurity in the country.
The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno announced the decision of the council to state house correspondents on Thursday after a meeting convened by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the complexities of the present security challenges demand broader partnership with all segments of the nation’s society.
He added that the National Assembly’s resolution on the sacking of Service Chiefs, was not discussed at the meeting.
The National Security Adviser, however declined to give a definite position on whether the security situation was declining, stable of critical.
The first quarterly meeting of the National Security Council for the year 2020, was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Interior, the Inspector General of Police, as well as the Director of DSS, the Minister of Police Affairs, among others.
