Supreme Court to Review Imo Governorship Judgement
By Akinmbola Abayomi
The Supreme Court will today review its judgment on the Imo governorship tussle.
Nigeria’s electoral body, INEC had declared former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Emeka Ihedioha as governor of the state.
But, the Supreme Court had on January 14 nullified the election and declared All Progressives Congress candidate, Hope Uzodinma as the authentic governor.
The decision did not go down well with Ihedioha who asked the Apex court to review the judgment.
Many other stakeholders in the state had also asked for a review. The Supreme Court will now sit on Tuesday sit to carry out the exercise.
