Student arrives Nigeria After Spending Months in Saudi Jail
Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian lady arrested in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking has arrived in Nigeria after spending four months in Saudia Arabia jail. Zainab, who was detained for alleged drug trafficking by the Saudi Arabian authorities, arrived alongside Ibrahim Abubakar who was also arrested for allegedly trafficking illegal substances in that country.
Both were received by delegates of the Nigerian government and their parents. The two were accused of smuggling illegal substances to Saudi Arabia, an offence that is punishable by death, according to the laws of the country. They were fortunate to have been freed following the timely intervention of the Nigerian government.
On arrival, Zainab was received by her father, alongside other family members, friends and well-wishers. Thereafter, they boarded a waiting vehicle, which drove them to their Kundila residence, in the Tarauni Local Government Area of the state. She was received by a jubilant crowd that had gathered at her father’s house.
