Sharapova Quits Tennis
Russian Maria Sharapova is set to retire from tennis at the age of 32.
The five-time grand slam winner says her body “had become a distraction” in an article for Vanity Fair Magazine.
The super model had been struggling with a shoulder injury and also served a 15-month ban after failing a drug test in 2016.
Sharapova won her first grand slam title in 2014 at Wimbledon aged 17, and went on to complete the career slam by 2012.
