Senate Sets Deadline For 2020 Budget Estimate

Senate has ordered the Committee on Appropriations to do everything possible to ensure it lays the 2020 budget estimates on November 26.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, gave the directive on Tuesday during the senate plenary.
The Senate President charged the Appropriations Committee to commence work on the budget proposals since all the Standing Committees have concluded their work with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
President Muhammadu Buhari on October,8 presented the 2020 budget proposal at a joint session of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, a bill seeking to establish the National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speeches has passed First Reading on the floor of the Senate.
The bill sponsored by the Senator representing Niger North, Aliyu Sabi was earlier introduced in 2017 but failed to scale through the second reading.
