Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen says scoring two goals on his debut for his new club Lille is an “unforgettable moment” in his career.
Osimhen scored 19 minutes into his Ligue 1 debut for the French side and hit a near-post finish 10 minutes from time to secure all 3 points for his new side after Girotto had equalized for the away side in the 51st minute.
Speaking to the club’s media after the game, Osimhen said: “I am really happy I want to continue to build on this momentum. It is an unforgettable moment for me.”
The 20-year-old joined Lille in the summer as replacement for Ivorian star, Nicholas Pepe who left the French side for Arsenal.
Osimhen joined Lille from Belgium side, Sporting Chaleroi in the summer signing a five year deal with the French side.
The Nigerian International praised the club’s management for treating him well.
“From the first day I came into the club, they received me with open arms and they’ve been wonderful to me. They helped me to really settle well,” Osimhen said.
