Sanwo-Olu Vows to Assist Traders Affected in Market Fire

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has assured traders whose stalls and properties were destroyed in the Amu Plank market in Mushin Local Government area that his administration would not take over the market.
Addressing the traders during an on the spot assessment of the damage caused by the inferno which reportedly started at about midnight on Saturday, Governor Sanwo-Olu told them not to be apprehensive as his administration would support them to rebuild the market.
He also promised to direct officials of the State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA), to evacuate all the rubbles caused by the fire at no cost to the traders, while officials of the Ministry of Physical Planning would come to identify stalls and enumerate those affected to enable the government to know where it would direct it's assistance.
Nigeria Info confirms that some residential property was torched, while shops and goods worth billions of naira were destroyed by the fire which raged on for several hours, leaving large parts of the market in rubbles.
