Sanwo-Olu swears in New Acting Chief Judge of Lagos State
The new Acting Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba has promised the judiciary will work closely with the state government in enforcing traffic and environmental laws by punishing offenders.
At his swearing-in today by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the acting Chief Judge said the judiciary under his watch will 'ensure speedy and effective dispensation of justice,' adding that those who go against traffic and environmental laws would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
On administration of justice, Justice Alogba said he is counting on the support of the state government in administering effective justice system in the state.
In his response, the governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu promised to review upward the running cost of the judiciary, adding that the state government would partner the federal government to decongest the prison and reform the judicial sector.
He thanked the immediate past Chief Judge for her 'meritorious service' and expressed confidence in the new Chief Judge's ability to steer the ship of the judiciary in the state.
