Reactions as Nigerian Air Force Airlifts Medical Materials to Abuja
By Dipo Omoware
A number of Nigerians on social media are reacting as medical supplies donated by the Jack Ma Foundation were airlifted by the Nigerian Airforce from Lagos to Abuja. You will recall that China's richest man Jack Ma made a donation of test kits and other medical supplies to fight coronavirus in Africa.
Replying to a tweet put out by the Airforce and another Facebook post informing the public of the transport, Nigerians bared their mind on the decision.

A cross-section of the responses questioned why the Abuja was the choice of destination:
Why to Abuja? So that it could be shared there amongst them? Those that tested positive, our leaders will forever be shameless, they never have us at heart. Nemesis will catch up with them all o— H2 (@coolestHarris) March 25, 2020
What's the rationale in this vague discussion? What's the proposition divide between these states? As we know it, Lagos is the most affected state and the numbers are increasing daily. So, most of these goods should be in Lagos. It's sad to see anyhowness of this county😥😔— ananabannamdi🇳🇬 (@ananabannamdi) March 25, 2020
Some Nigerians couldn’t care less where it when and just praised the Nigerian Air Force for their efforts:
Success is yours ! May God protect our Nigerian arm forces !! Willing able ready !!! pic.twitter.com/3SyyEH0LyY— zubair Adam ( Daddy ) (@ZubairuAdam2) March 25, 2020
And some wanted it to get to everybody at the end of the day:
I don't have a problem with it going to FCT, my concern is this material should be shared to all states of the federation. We don't want andly case of hoarding of these materials. Please!!!— 👑bisi (@debisioluwa) March 25, 2020
There's no need to waste time, share this thing and let it be used judiciously!
A few offered their own solution to the problem:
I wouldn't even have a problem if it is distributed to military hospitals and to the soldiers on the front line. Fighting BH is hard enough and contracting #COVID19 will make it worse. If we can sacrifice the items for them, no problem. #staysafe— pascal oz (@pascaloz) March 25, 2020
