PRESIDENT BUHARI NOMINATES EMEFIELE FOR A SECOND TERM
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term.
The Central Bank Governor was first appointed in 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan and was retained in 2015 after Buhari assumed office.
The letter of his tenure elongation was sent to the Senate on Wednesday and read during plenary on Thursday.
It is the first time since the country returned to democracy in 1999, that anyone would be nominated to serve two terms as CBN governor.
