PEPT Updates: Buhari Educationally Qualified to Contest 2019 Elections- Tribunal
The Presidential Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has ruled that President Muhammadu Buhari was "eminently qualified" educationally to contest the 2019 presidential election.
The five-man panel concluded that Buhari has the required West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate and has undergone various trainings and courses in the military.
Atiku Abubakar of the PDP had challenged Buhari’s eligibility to contest the Presidential election, alleging that the APC candidate had no WAEC certificate.
The tribunal also unanimously struck out a petition claiming that Vice-president Yemi Osibajo had used the Trader moni scheme to induce electorates.
