One Dead In Lagos Pipeline Explosion

One person is dead after a pipeline explosion at Idowu Egba on Thursday. This is according to the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA).
Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyitolu, Director-General LASEMA in a statement made available to Nigeria Info said the pipeline which exploded was vandalized.
According to him “Upon arrival of the LRT as well as other emergency responders at the incident scene, it was observed that a pipeline located within Diamond Estate/Idowu Egba had ruptured /vandalized and was spilling petrol.
“This resulted in a fire outbreak at four points. A man that sustained 70 percent burns was rescued and taken to General Hospital Alimosho and a single adult male was burnt to death, his body was bagged and taken to mortuary.”
The LASEMA boss, however, said his team has been deployed and operations are ongoing to manage the situation and prevent further explosion.

“LASEMA Response Team and other responders will be taking measures using to minimize the risk of further explosion.
“The affected area has also been cordoned off while LRT, NSCDC, and LNSC are on ground to ensure the safety of people and their properties
