Nwakali Arrives Camp Ahead AFCON U23
As the team continues to intensify preparations ahead of the AFCON U23 tournament holding in Egypt in November, the Camp of the Olympic Eagles have been boosted by the arrival of foreign-based player Kelechi Nwakali.
The SD Huesca of Spain player was among the players that took part in Thursday's morning training session at the National Stadium training pitch supervised by Coach Imama Amapakabo and his assistants.
The mercurial midfielder played an integral part in the qualifiers as the team dispatched Libya and Sudan to book a berth in U23 AFCON in Egypt.
The Olympic Eagles open their campaign against Cote d' Ivoire in the tournament on the 9th of November in Cairo before taking on Zambia on the 12th and South Africa on the 15th respectively.
Correspondent Sharif Abdallah who doubles as media officer of the team reports that more foreign based pros are expected to join the camp before the team depart for Egypt.
The winners, runners up and third placed teams at the tournament will represent Africa in next year's men's soccer Olympic tournament.
The fiesta is expected to last for two weeks, from 8-22 of November.
