NORTHERN GOVERNORS MEET OVER REGION’S SECURITY SITUATION
Governors in the Northern region of the country are meeting over the security situation in that region of the country.
The alarming spate of kidnapping, armed robbery and banditry in the northern states including Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara as well as the North-Eastern part of the country forms the basis of the meeting.
Present at the meeting are Governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima, who is also the Chairman of the Forum, Sokoto state Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and his Katsina counterpart Aminu Masari.
Others include Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong and Benue state Deputy Governor, Benson Abonu.
According to reports, the meeting is expected to centre on the prevailing and disturbing insecurity in the region, the high rate of the number of out-of-school children as well as agricultural matters.
