Nigerian woman killed in Saudi proclaimed innocent
Nigerians have expressed sadness over killing of a Nigerian woman, who has been declared innocent after she was executed. Kudirat Adesola Afolabi had been killed by authorities in Saudi Arabia over hard substance trafficking.
Events took a U-turn when it was gathered that the culprits who planted drugs in her bag were found. Afolabi's bags been planted with drugs while she was at the airport in Kano, Nigeria. Now, Nigerians have expressed sadness on the death of the woman who was killed for a crime she did not commit.
Afolabi was a Nigerian mother of two who was executed in Saudi Arabia after drugs were found in her possession while she was in the country for lesser hajj. A Nigeian crime syndicate that explained that her case was not properly investigated, is said to be working with some officials at the airport in Kano where the woman boarded the plane to Saudi Arabia.
It has been confirmed that the real criminals were already arrested and prosecuted in Nigeria. The Nigerian Consul was said to have contacted the the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Authorities twice over the killing of Nigerians and there have been trading of blames over the killings of Nigerians in that country and others. More than twenty Nigerians are on the death row in Saudi Arabia for drug-related offences.
