James added that the National Identity Number is compulsory for all applicants to the new document and that the NIS management had set up a desk at the passport office where individuals can register for the NIN.
While warning applicants against patronising touts, James stressed that all the service window of the NIS are equipped to meet the needs of applicants. He advised the public against rushing for the new booklet, stating that the enhanced booklet will run concurrently with the old one.
