NIGERIA GOVERNORS FORUM: INDUCTION FOR NEW, RETURNING GOVERNORS BEGIN

An induction programme for all new and returning governors is being held by the Nigerian Governors Forum ahead of the May 29th inauguration ceremony.

The programme is being held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villla, Abuja and sees the newly-elected governors and the outgoing ones in attendance.

Vice-president Prof. Yemi Osibanjo is representing the President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently away on a private visit to the United Kingdom at the event.

Speaking to the newly-elected governors, Chairman of the forum and outgoing governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari urged them to be ready to face new challenges.

Abdulaziz called on the state governors to increase their Internally Generated Revenue and warned that over-dependence on crude oil would only hamper the state’s ability to meet its financial needs.
