Matters Arising over Alleged Fulanization of Nigeria
The statement made by Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has thrown up viral comments on social media. He was speaking at an event in Delta State when he touched on Fulanization in Nigeria on the topic, "Mobilizing Nigeria’s human & natural resources for national development and stability."
According to him, the twin evils of Boko Haram and marauding cattle herders were initially not taken seriously. “They have both incubated and developed beyond what Nigeria can handle alone. They are now combined and internationalized with ISIS in control, he said.
“It is no longer an issue of lack of education and lack of employment for our youths in Nigeria which it began as, it is now West African fulanization, African Islamization and global organized crimes of human trafficking, money laundering, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, illegal mining and regime change," Obasanjo said.
Reacting to this, Morning Crossfire on 99.3 Nigeria Info was abuzz with different opinions; some of them siding with Obasanjo's statements, while others were against his words.
