LASG to Provide 70 million Gallons of Water for Lagosians
The Lagos State government says it’s poised to revive the Adiyan Waterworks phase two project in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals agenda in the provision of portable and clean water to residents of the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu stated this during an assessment and inspection tour of the abandoned construction of the Adiyan Waterworks phase two project, and Iju Waterworks.
According to him, the contract would be awarded for the reticulation and this would take the water to different locations in the state which included Ikeja, Alimosho, Surulere, Yaba amongst others.
Enumerating the benefits of the project to Lagosians, Sanwo-Olu said the project which is in partnership with Ogun State Government on the right of way from Akute to Adiyan will be completed within 18 months.
On his part, General Manager, Ministry of works Mumuni Gbadamosi, said some of the challenges faced at the project Adiyan Water Works phase two were contractual funds, encroachment among others.
Correspondent Maureen Ogolor, reports that the Governor also paid an inspection visit to Iju Water Works being managed by the Lagos State Water Corporation where he toured the facility on ground.
