LAMPARD: I’M PROUD TO BE CHELSEA MANAGER

Newly appointed Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says he is “immensely proud” to be appointed manager of the West London based club. Chelsea on Thursday morning confirmed the signature of their former player who has signed a three-year contract.
Speaking to the club’s website, the former Derby County manager said: “Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared; however, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead.”
Lampard also added to he was at Chelsea “to work hard, bring further success to the club and cannot wait to get started.”
Chelsea believe Lampard “possesses fantastic knowledge and understanding of the club” needed to move the club to the next level.
According to Director Marina Granovskaia, Lampard “demonstrated he is one of the most talented young coaches in the game.”
Lampard joined Chelsea in 2001 and played for the Blues till 2014 makng 429 appearances and scoring 147 goals. He won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League. He was also named runner up in the FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2005.
