KOGI ELECTION: Police Deploy Additional 25000 Personnel

The Kogi State Police Command says it is anticipating a total of twenty-five thousand additional police personnel in the state during next month’s governorship election.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kabir Gwarzo announced this today in Abuja at a civil society dialogue to assess the level of preparations for the November 16 polls.
Gwarzo said the personnel will be drawn from Abuja and other adjoining states.
He said the police had “done all the things that they were supposed to do” and promised Kogi indigenes and Nigerians that they will witness a rancour-free governorship and Senatorial-Bye elections next month.
He added that each polling unit will be manned by four police personnel and urged party political to abide by the rules of engagement.
“You have the duty to also tell the party politicians that they need to abide by the rules of engagement, there has to be a rule of engagement they have to stay unto so that we can have a seamless free flow that day”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have announced that it will deploy ten thousand personnel to compliment security operations during the Kogi State elations.
