Incumbent Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello is in the lead in the results of the state’s governorship election so far released.

 

A breakdown of results so far from 15 Local Government Areas (LGA) announced at the collation centre in Lokoja shows that Governor Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 316, 523 from the total votes of 419, 399 votes counted so far. This is about 75% percent of the results released.

 

His closest challenger, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a distant second with 96, 175 votes representing about 22% of the votes cast while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Natasha Akpoti is third with 6701 votes.

 

Meanwhile, the PDP State agent rejected the results announced by INEC from two local government areas siting irregularities. The local governments are Adavi Local Government Area and Okene Local Government Area.
