JUST IN: Rangers Striker Feared Dead
A Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) player is suspected to have died following a road accident on Sunday.
Ifeanyi George, who plays for Rangers International, was reportedly on his way
to Lagos when the accident reportedly occured.
A twitter user, who is simply identified as Mazi Ikemba, put out a tweet confirming the death of the player which in turn was retweeted by the official handle of Rangers International.

“I can't control the tears rolling down my eyes, Ifeanyi George, a powerful striker who plays for @rangersint is late. My heart is heavy, this is still a shock, my thoughts and prayers are with his family and Rangers Team,” the tweet read.
When contacted to clarify the information, Media Officer of the club, Norbert Okolie told Nigeria Info Rangers are on their way to the scene of the incident to confirm it.
“They were given a 10 day break on Friday and the young man was going to Lagos,” Okolie said.
The Media Officer added: “We are going to the spot where the social media pictures are telling us the incident happened. We learnt it is near Benin, but we don’t know where exactly. Is it before Benin from Onitsha or after Benin from Onitsha (we are not sure)?”
“When we get there, we will get more facts,” he concluded.
George joined Rangers from Enyimba in 2017. He last scored scored for Rangers against Al Masry of Egypt in February 2nd this year in the CAF Confederations Cup.
