INEC Suspends Activities for Two Weeks

In response to the growing COVID-19 Pandemic in Country, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the suspension of all regular and non-essential activities in its headquarters and offices nation-wide for 14days, effective from Tuesday 24th, March 2020.
In a statement issued on Monday by INEC’s National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, the activities include Regular Quarterly meetings with Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations, the Media amongst other stakeholders. Okoye also pointed out that INEC will not monitor conferences or meetings of political parties until further notice. He however assured that the new measures do not affect the activities for Edo and Ondo governorship elections scheduled for 19th September and 10th October 2020 respectively.
The Commission assures Stakeholders and the public of continual communication with respect to Electoral Matters.
