INEC Distributes Election Material in Bayelsa

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Bayelsa State has commenced distribution of sensitive materials ahead of tomorrow's governorship election in the state.
Distribution started today at the Central Bank of Nigeria complex in Yenagoa. Each set of materials is accompanied by troops of police officers.
Head, Voter Education and Publicity for INEC in Yenagoa, Wilfred Ifogha told Nigeria Info that 10, 066 permanent and ad hoc staff have been engaged for the election.
Wilfred said ad hoc staff include serving and former Youth Corps Members and undergraduates of Federal Institutions.
He added that following assurances by the Inspector General of Police, the commission believes there would be adequate security.
He said accreditation will be done strictly through the use of Smart Card Readers while results will be transmitted manually.
