Griezmann Joins Barcelona
France forward Antoine Griezeman has joined Barcelona from Atletico Madrid after the Catalan club paid his N48.3m (£107m) buyout clause.
The 2018 World Cup winner has signed a five year deal with the Spanish giants after earlier announcing he would be leaving Atletico Madrid last month.
It brings to an end months of speculation about the France international’s future as he becomes the sixth most expensive signing in the world behind his now Barca teammate Ousmanne Dembele, Joao Felix- who only just signed for Atleti, Kylian Mbappe, Philippe Coutinho and Neymar.
The former Real Sociedad player joins Lucas Hernandez and Diego Godin as high profile players who have left the capital-based club this summer.
Griezmann, 28, made 256 appearances for Atletico scoring 133 goals having joined from Real Sociedad back in 2014.
He leaves the Wanda Metropolitano with the Europa League, the Spanish Super Cup and the Uefa Super Cup titles in his cabinet during his five years at the club.
Atletico Madrid, now Griezmann’s former club, finished nine points in second place behind his new side Barcelona last season in the league.
