Gov. Uzodinma Demands N32bn Refund from Buhari
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma is requesting a refund of the monies spent on some federal roads during the past administration in the state.
The request was made in a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
According to the governor, the money currently totals to about 32 billion naira.
Speaking to correspondents after the meeting, he said the refund would help address pressing issues like pension, salary arrears, and infrastructure.
“The consultants are still working. So far, we’ve computed the monies in the neighborhood of 32 billion.”
“In my first application to the president, I articulated those ones that would add prior approval before construction”, said the governor.
Uzodinma also adds that a total sum of N12billion was recorded and the request was submitted.
Recall that the governor only assumed office in January after the Supreme Court nullified the victory of Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) at the governorship polls.
