Federer out of French Open

It seems like Roger Federer’s wait for another French Open title is all but over for this year at least. This is because the 20-time grand slam winner has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Wednesday in Switzerland.
The Swiss star will miss the second grand slam tournament of the year, the French Open, which is set to begin on the 24th of May.
The 38-year-old who reached the semi-final of last month’s Australian Open while confirming the injury said, "See you on the grass!"
"After the procedure, the doctors confirmed it was the right thing to have done”, added Federer.
Asides the French Open, the eight-time Wimbledon Open champion will also likely miss the Indian Wells, Miami Masters, Bogota and Dubai tournaments.
Federer’s only success in Paris’ clay court came back in 2009. He reached the semi-finals last year, a first appearance since 2015.
