Enrique to Return as Spain Boss
Luis Enrique is set to return to La Furia Roja as manager after only leaving the team five months ago following the death of his daughter.
The former Barcelona coach resigned from his post as coach after announcing the death of his daughter, Xana, after only 11 months in the job.
Enrique, 49, was replaced by his assistant Robert Moreno, who he worked with at Celta Vigo, Roma and Barcelona.
Moreno had stated following his appointment that he would “step aside” should Enrique choose to return.
Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales while speaking on Tueesday at a news conference said: "Everyone knew that if Luis Enrique wanted to come back he had the doors open. Luis Enrique will continue to the Qatar World Cup [in 2022]."
Enrique, who was appointed national team boss following Spain's second round exit from the 2018 World Cup, will now take charge after Spain qualified for Euro 2020 unbeaten.
