Court Clears Pinnick, Others of Corruption Allegations
The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out the corruption allegation levelled against the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick and four others.
The NFF President and his First Vice President, Barrister Seyi AKinwunmi as well as the second Vice President, Shehu Dikko, the General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi and an Executive Board Member, Ahmed Yusuf, were all accused of misappropriating $8.4m and N4bn.
The NFF Executives were docked on 16 counts of corruption and misappropriation of the said amount from the 2014 FIFA Grant. They were also accused of conflict of interest and non-declaration of assets by the defunct Special Presidential Investigation Panel, headed by Okon Obono-Obla.
The allegations were not proved by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel.
At the resumed trial on Tuesday, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja discharged and acquitted Amaju Pinnick and the other accused NFF officials.
