Coronavirus Update: New Case is Stable - Medical Director
The latest case of coronavirus patient in Nigeria is clinically stable.
Medical Director, Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Dr. Abimbola Bowale confirmed this on Tuesday.
While speaking with Nigeria Info, Bowale explained that the woman, who arrived in Nigeria from the UK on the 13th of this month, was brought to the hospital after developing fever and cough,
“Shortly after she arrived Nigeria was when the symptom started. So she called NCDC and a team was sent to collect her specimen. So the result came back as positive. That was why we had to move her into isolation and commence treatment for her.”
“She came in this morning and necessary treatment has been commenced, so she is also in a very stable condition.”
The Director also advised all those who came with her on the flight to self-isolate themselves for 14 days and check for symptoms. She also revealed that those who were in contact with her are currently been traced.
Bowale further disclosed that the index case is responding fine and almost coming to the end of his treatment.
Nigeria currently has three confirmed cases. However, one of them has been discharged after testing negative.
