Coronavirus Patient in Stable Condition

The Italian patient who tested positive for Coronavirus has been confirmed to be in a stable condition.
Medical Director, Mainland Hospital Yaba, Abimbola Bowale disclosed this in an interview with Nigeria Info on Friday.
According to Dr Bowale, “We have a male patient here who was admitted yesterday and tested positive to Coronavirus. I just left him a few minutes ago. He is in a very stable condition. His spirit is quite high and we have no cause to worry about his health.”
Speaking further, the doctor reveals that measures have been taken to combat the virus upon arrival.
“For us at the Mainland Hospital, we are well prepared. The question in our minds few weeks ago has been,’ when are we going to have the case?’ and not a question of “if”.
We have been prepared. We have stocked materials, we have trained our staff and our morale is also very high. We will do our best to ensure that any case brought to us is given the best treatment“, he says.
Nigeria Info In House Doctor, Fredrick Unuigbokhai urged Nigerians to remain calm, protect themselves and observe strict hand hygiene.
“Wash your hands, use hand sanitizer, use a tissue paper when coughing and throw away, if you don’t have that you can cough at the crease of your elbow, and maintain at least 5 feet distance,” he added.
Unuigbokhai also advised Nigerians to desist from self-medication when ill.
Nigeria recorded its first case of the infectious disease, Covid-19 during the early hours of Friday. This was confirmed by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanre .
The unnamed Italian patient arrived in Lagos, Nigeria, on Wednesday from Milan and was reported ill on 26th February. He was transferred to Lagos State Biosecurity Facilities for isolation and testing.
