Students currently undergoing the mandatory orientation exercise of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) across the country can now leave camp.

The Nigerian Government has closed down the exercises a "precautionary measure" to contain the spread of Covid 19.

Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare confirmed this on his official Twitter handle.

"Today across the country, the NYSC Orientation camps will be closed," Dare wrote.

He added that "Youth Corpers will be paid and sent to their places of primary assignment."

The minister also noted that this  "is a precautionary measure on the part of the government to check the spread of COVID-19."

There are three confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. One of them has, however, tested negative.
