Coronavirus: Football Suspended Indefinitely
Football in Spain has been postponed indefinitely.
This means La Liga and other football leagues will not resume on April 3rd as earlier planned.
This is after a joint press conference between La Liga and the Spanish football federation (RFEF).
The statement there will not be football until the Spanish government considered they could start again “without creating any health risk.”
It also added: “both the RFEF and LaLiga wish to express our greatest public gratitude to all those who are dedicating their best efforts to provide essential services to the Spanish people.'
Just over 2000 persons are dead in Spain and about 33,000 have been infected.
Barcelona currently sit atop the La Liga table with 58 points after 27 games. They are closely followed by rivals Real Madrid who are two points behind. Sevilla and Real Sociedad are the other top four clubs.
Celta Vigo, Mallorca, Leganes and Espanyol are the in the bottom four.
