President Muhammadu Buhari's daughter is currently in self-isolation.
First Lady, Aisha Buhari, in a statement on Thursday says her daughter was not showing any symptoms at the moment but was placed in isolation after returning from the UK, one of the Coronavirus high-risk countries.
“Based on the advice of the Hon. Minister Of Health, Presidential Taskforce on COVID - 19 and that of NCDC, She(her daughter) is on Self Isolation, not because she displayed any symptoms of the Covid-19.
“Please I urge all parents to do the same if possible as prevention is better than cure. Similarly, I have shut down my office for two weeks with immediate effect while essential staff can work from home as a result of some Staff who recently returned from the UK,” the statement read.
She advised all Nigerians to " keep following the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control" by continuous maintenance of good hygiene and standard social distancing practice.
She ended by assuring Nigerians that the Covid-19 pandemic will be defeated if we take the necessary precautions.
Twelve cases of Coronavirus has been confirmed in Nigeria as at Thursday.
