Bye Election: Kano Police Announce Restriction Of Movement in Nine LGAs

The Kano State Police Command has announced restriction of movement in the nine local government areas where a re-run election will be conducted on January 25, saying only those on essential service would be allowed to move around.
A statement signed by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa and made available to Cool FM last night, warned politicians against sponsoring thugs and carrying of offensive weapons.
The statement noted that only eligible voters will be allowed at the polling units, adding that anybody without INEC’s accreditation or without a voter’s card will be denied access at the particular polling unit.
The Command also promised that the security agencies will continue to be impartial, neutral, professional, civil and firm to ensure the maintenance of highest decorum in the conduct of their duties.
