Buhari Asks Senate to Confirm New FIRS Boss

President Muhammadu Buhari says he has forwarded the name of Muhammad Mamman Nami and others to the Senate to be confirmed as the new Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) chairman and board members respectively.
The President revealed this via tweets on Tuesday. The President’s action follows his decision o not extend the tenure of Immediate past Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS), Babatunde Fowler whose term of office expired on Monday, 9th December 2019.

James Yakwen Ayuba, North Central;
Ado Danjuma, North West;
Adam Baba Mohammed, North East;
Ikeme Osakwe, South East;
Adewale Ogunyomade, South West,
and Ehile Adetola Aibangbee, South South.
The Chairman-nominee, Muhammad Nami, is from the North Central.
In the same vein, the President confirmed he has also submitted a letter to the Senate to confirm the appointment of Edward Lametek Adamu as e New Chairman for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
