BREAKING: Supreme Court Affirms Ikpeazu, 3 Others as Authentic Governors

The Supreme Court on Wednesday affirmed governors Okezie Ikpeazu, Darius Ishaku, Ifeanyi Okowa and Abubakar Bello as the authentic governors of Abia, Taraba, Delta and Niger states respectively.

A seven-man panel of judges of the apex court led by Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, in separate judgments validated the victories of the governors in the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial elections in their states.

Dismissing separate appeals challenging the declaration of the Independent National Election commission after the election, the Justices unanimously held that the appellants failed to prove their respective cases, adding that the appeals lacked merit.

Speaking with journalists after the judgement, deputy governor of Taraba State, Haruna Manu wants the opposition to accept the judgement in good faith and cooperate with the state government to move Taraba forward.

Also, Anthony Agbazuere, the Chief of Staff to the Abia State governor said it is time for governor Ikpeazu to concentrate on governance.
