Bala, Lalong React to Supreme Court Judgement

Governor Bala Muhammed has reacted to the Supreme Court ruling that reaffirmed his election as the duly elected governor of Bauchi state and struck out the appeal by the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Mohammed Abubakar.
In an interview after the judgement, the governor said the verdict has “reaffirmed my faith in the judiciary of this country.”
He thanked the people of Bauchi who voted for him "unanimously across party lines” and promised to deliver “good governance.”
“The verdict today has reaffirmed my faith in the judiciary of this country and I want to affirm and restate that the people of Bauchi who have voted for me unanimously across party lines.”
He also extended a “hand of fellowship” to former governor Mohammed Abubakar and asked that they work together as "citizens of Bauchi state".
“I’m extending a hand of fellowship and friendship to Mohammed Abubakar, the defeated governor and gubernatorial candidate of APC to come and join hands with me to build Bauchi State so that we can take over from where he has left off because we are all citizens of Bauchi and citizens of Nigeria.”
The Apex Court also affirmed the election Simon Lalong as the duly elected governor of Plateau state and in a statement to journalists, the governor said it was time to focus on governance.
“The election is finished, litigation is over, it is now time for good governance in Plateau state.”
He also appealed to Nigerians to be calm and not fight over the court judgement.
“The final appeal I would make to Nigerians that have seen (the) judgement today, is not to go and fight again. I am going to use this opportunity to embrace the opponents on the other side and to bring them along.”
