2019 Miss Universe: Women the Most Powerful Beings in the World.
By Dipo Omoware
Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi says women are the most powerful beings in the world and has urged “young girls and women to take up space in the society.”
The newly crowned South African model and beauty pageant queen was speaking in the run up to her crowning as Miss Universe 2019 at the Tyler Perry Studio, Atlanta, Georgia where the ceremony was held.
Also speaking at the event, Zozibini said “leadership is one of the most important things we should be teaching young girls.”
She described leadership as something that “has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time” not because women are lacking in potential or ability “but because of what society has labelled women to be”.
“I think we are the most powerful beings on the world and that we should be given every opportunity.”
And that is what we should be teaching these young girls, to take up space, nothing is important as taking up space in society and cementing yourself.
Zozibini is the third woman from South Africa to win the title, and the first black woman since Leila Lopes was crowned Miss Universe 2011.
After she was crowned, she tweeted that every little girl should believe in the power of their dreams.

May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power of her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine.
