The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State says it is not aware of Senator Magnus Abe's return to the party.
Chairman of Rivers State APC Caretaker Committee, Chief Tony Okocha, disclosed this on Nigeria Info FM’s Morning Crossfire, stating that no notification has been received from Senator Abe about his return to the APC.
Senator Abe announced his return to the APC, from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) where he secured the governorship ticket for the 2023 election in Rivers State.
“You don’t belong to a political party by jumping to radio stations and televisions,” Chief Okocha said.
Chief Okocha who described Senator Abe’s actions as blackmailing also faulted the Senator’s earlier claim that his supporters remained in the APC after he defected to the SDP.
He stressed the importance of following the official return procedures as specified in the party’s constitution.
