Effective policy, effective budget, and effective implementation are made possible when there is an open government principle in a tailored engagement which will make development blockades give way to reformation.
Sometime in September 2011, the open government partnership was launched to provide an international platform for domestic reformers to make their government more open, more accountable, and responsive to citizens
This partnership was governed by four key principles: Transparency, Accountability, Citizen Participation, and Technology.
In 2016, The Nigerian Government came on board this partnership committing to three top priorities: Security, Economy, and Fighting corruption.
The big question is, how well have we done in this cause?
Founder of the Pius Dukor Foundation and Political Analyst, Pius Dukor, joins Gabriella Anyanwu on The Sunny Side to discuss the open government system.
