The People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers state has denied it is responsible for recent political attacks on opposition parties in the state.
The former Publicity Secretary of the PDP and Chief of Staff Ikwerre LGA, Darlington Orji, made this known on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire while reacting to a January 19, attack at the All Progressives Congress, APC campaign rally in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area in the state.
Mr. Orji added that the APC had several successful rallies in the past, hence the PDP should be absolved of all allegations of politically attacking opposition parties in the state.
The APC had alleged the PDP was behind the said attack at its campaign rally, which left some persons injured from an explosion.
“There was nothing like explosion or attack from PDP, it is a community affair” Orji stated; relying on a statement from the Rivers Police Command.
A statement the Rumuowoji Community Chairman, Ike Wigodo said was incorrect in an earlier interview on the show.
