The spokesperson for Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council in Rivers state, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa has denied claims that the campaign council and the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state planned to share the same venue for a campaign rally.

Dr Nwibubasa described the claim as “laughable and misleading’’ in an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire.

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike had revoked approval for the campaign council to use the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in the state to host its presidential campaign rally.

The governors of the PDP in Rivers, Oyo, Benue, Abia, and Ebonyi states also known as the G5 group, have been in a tussle with the national body of the party over calls for zoning of the national chairmanship position to the South for equity and fairness.

Speaking on the chances of the party winning in the forthcoming elections amid the disagreement. Dr Nwibubasa said four governors of the G5 except for the Rivers state governor are now campaigning for the party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

“I can say that authoritatively…They are campaigning in their states and have not campaigned against Atiku Abubakar” he stressed.

Dr Nwibubasa also alleged that Governor Wike has endorsed the ruling APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, directing his supporters to vote Tinubu for the 2023 presidency.
