The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has explained why it issued a directive for candidates who have biometric challenges during the 2023 UTME registration to come to its headquarters in Abuja.

JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, who was a guest on Nigeria Info FM’s Morning Crossfire, told Ifiemi Andrew that the policy has been put in place to protect the “sanctity” of the examinations.

“We don’t also want the sanctity of our examinations to be compromised by any, even if it is one person,” he said.

He added that the directive is also aimed at addressing an abnormality it discovered, saying the board will not bring up a policy that will “ensure people just suffer unnecessarily”.
